Saturdays and Sundays
we demonstrate baking “lefse”. The Grocery Store sells old-fashioned sweets. In the Old Town, you can see life of the working class in the 1800s. In the Farmhouse from Grøsli you can learn about life on the farm in earlier days. Family programs on selected Sundays.
Summer
is high season in the Open-Air Museum. Here history comes alive. Hosts in traditional costumes welcome you. Historic houses and farmsteads are filled with activities, folk music and folk dance, every day!
The annual Christmas Fair
is a major attractions the first two weekends of December. The Open-Air Museum is decorated according to earlier traditions to show how our ancestors used to celebrate the Christmas Holiday. A Christmas marked, choral concerts, folk dance and activities for the children will bring you in the Holiday spirit.
Open all year
Norsk Folkemuseum is open every day all year, except on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The exhibits are open every day. Summer i high season in the Open-Air Museum.
