Gjestestuene

In a scenic environment near Bygdø Royal Farm and the old Stavechurch from Gol, visitors will find the Gjestestuene at Norsk Folkemuseum. Only minutes from central Oslo, Gjestestuene offer a spectacular venue for those seeking a glimpse of traditional Norwegian culture within the boundries of the capital. Gjestestuene cater for all group sizes between 15 - 250 people. Unfortunately we are not open to individual visitors.

The history and the venue

Gjestestuene was built in 1917 by the famous architect Magnus Poulsson. The characteristic style follows the romantic national movement that inspired Norwegian artists at the time. We offer four differently sized venues gathered under a common roof: Festsalen, Den Blå Peisestue, Østerdalsstua and Folkestuen.
