Guided tours
The museum offers a variety of guided tours specifically designed for different groups. There are specially developed tours for school classes and student groups at all educational levels, based on the curriculum. Travel agents may book from a selection of guided tours. You may also book a lunch or dinner for your group at the historic Norsk Folkemuseums Gjestestuer (The Reception Rooms at Norsk Folkemuseum) as a perfect end to your experience.
The historic Norsk Folkemuseums Gjestestuer (The Reception Rooms at Norsk Folkemuseum) are available for conferences, meetings and special events. It is located at the edge of the picturesque Open-Air Museum.
Archives and records
The archives and records include the library and the photo archives as well as the research and historic archives. The archives and records are open to the public Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.00 – 15.00, on appointment only. Photos may be ordered by contacting our Photo Agency.
The museum has served as a location for numerous motion pictures, media events, interviews and advertising productions. We offer location for photography and filming on appointment only.
Membership
By joining Friends of Norsk Folkemuseum you will get free admission to the museum all year as well as our membership magazine (in Norwegian only).
The Christmas Fair
This annual pre-Christmas event the two first week-ends of December draws around 20.000 visitors yearly. The fair provides an attractive outlet for various types of small business products, and the museum offers market booths for rent.
